Rob Zombie recently announced his “Freaks On Parade Returns” tour featuring Marilyn Manson. The collaboration has sparked criticism from fans on Instagram.
The announcement generated enthusiasm from Zombie about the upcoming tour lineup.
“FREAKS ON PARADE RETURNS! You don’t want to miss this one! ZOMBIE and MANSON with special guests THE HU and ORGY!” Rob Zombie said. “This is the tour of the summer! Get ready to melt.”
However, the announcement drew negative reactions from several fans who expressed disappointment with Manson’s inclusion in the tour.
One fan responded to the tour announcement, stating their concerns about attending due to Manson’s involvement. “Yeah…. Manson? We ain’t doing that,” the fan commented. “I’ll wait till you’re on a tour without that person.”
Another supporter echoed similar sentiments about the lineup choices.
“Would love to see literally everyone but Manson,” another fan commented. “Super disappointing.”
A third fan referenced past experiences with the duo’s previous collaborations.
“Would be excited but couldn’t be bothered to see Manson again after the disaster last time I saw you two together (among other things about Manson),” they said. “Love your tours Rob but I’m sadly likely going to have to miss it.”
The backlash appears to stem from concerns about Marilyn Manson’s troubled past. Fans are expressing reluctance to support shows featuring the controversial performer.
The fan reactions come despite the duo’s extensive touring history together. This partnership spans over a decade of joint performances across North America.
WBLM reported that the shock-rockers first embarked on the Twins of Evil joint tour in 2012. They famously argued onstage before reuniting for subsequent runs in 2018 and 2019. The upcoming 2026 tour is scheduled to run from August 20 in West Palm Beach, Florida, to September 20 in Concord, California.
The partnership between the two artists has proven commercially successful over the years. Sonic Perspectives noted that Zombie and Manson have previously toured together on multiple co-headlining runs. They have filled amphitheaters and arenas across North America with both artists maintaining strong fan bases.
Their most recent collaboration occurred during the Hell Never Dies Tour in summer 2019. Tankers International revealed that while co-headlining that tour with Rob Zombie, Manson expressed hopes to release a new album by the end of that year.
The current controversy highlights the ongoing challenges facing artists who choose to collaborate with performers who have faced public scrutiny. Fan loyalty and personal values increasingly influence concert attendance decisions.
