SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY, a celebration of the musical phenomenon that brought us Korn, System of a Down, Deftones, and Slipknot along with baggy jeans, pierced eyebrows and an onslaught of flame tattoos, kicks off nationwide this Spring, with the DJ-hosted event making its debut in multiple U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Atlanta.

“I think that nu-metal is one of the most impactful subgenres of heavy metal to ever exist in terms of how it rippled through the pop-culture of the time,” says Brian Howe, lead DJ and production manager for SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY. “It’s already been about 25 years since bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit were all over MTV and if every other culturally significant genre of music from the past 5 decades can have its own dance night why not nu-metal? As someone who loved listening to these bands as a kid and enjoys going out with friends as an adult it just makes perfect sense for us to create a ‘nu’ space where these bands and the genre can be celebrated.”

SUGAR: THE NU-METAL PARTY brings nu-metal back to the underground that created it, playing the classic, fist-pumping tracks that birthed a movement while also incorporating the nu-wave of bands re-igniting the genre, from Bad Omens and Code Orange, to Tallah and Wargasm, Spiritbox and Turnstile.
