I was lucky enough to catch the 40th anniversary show in Phoenix on 2/18/25 at Arizona Financial Theatre, where I got to see Mike Portnoy drum like a madman again, and the 2 act show plus encore was a whopping 18 tracks that covered 10 of their 18 albums.
The show started with and finished with their 1992 album Images and Words. The concept album Metropolis part two, scenes from a memory – accounted for a little over 20% of the set list. Two songs from Parasomnia, their new album launched the second act of the evening and were well received along with the classics that the fans have come to know and love.
The general consensus amongst fans, and those in attendance was the boys were playing their hearts out, and it was really good to see the lineup from the early 2000’s back together again.
They have about 16 shows left of their 60 show world tour. You can still catch them in the northern portion of the US and Canada with the tour concluding on March 22 in New York City .
